Using Squeebles Connect Online

Both Squeebles Connect apps are now available to play online via our website for Mac, PC and Chromebook. The apps work in most web browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera.

Parents, tutors and teachers can also use the web version of the app to log in and manage their account.

System Requirements: We recommend upgrading to the most recent version of your preferred web browser to get the best experience of using the Squeebles Connect apps online. Some older versions of web browsers are not capable of running the app at all, whilst other older browsers may cause it to run slowly.

Version Numbers:

To help you know whether you're accessing the latest version of the Squeebles Spelling Connect app when you play online, we've included a version number within the app and also below the app. If the two numbers don't match, you'll need to refresh your browser's cache before reloading the page.

See here for more information on this...

We will be adding this functionality to the Squeebles Times Tables Connect app when we next release an update.

Errors:

Occasionally, when we've updated the online version of one of our apps, your browser will still be loading older files from a previous version. This is because your browser caches some larger files to try and be "helpful". Usually this is helpful, because you don't want to wait for a large file to load every time you access it. But if the file has changed, it can cause errors.

Make sure the version numbers (see above) match and if not, refresh your browser's cache until they do. That should mean you are seeing the most up to date version and any errors should disappear.

Limitation to web versions:

1. Subscribing / Registering:

At the moment, it is not possible to subscribe or sign up for an account via the web version of the app, although we hope to add that functionality soon.

Until then, you will need to download your chosen Squeebles Connect app via either the Apple App Store (for iOS / Mac) or the Google Play Store (for Android) and take out your subscription via the app.

Once you have done that and you have set your children up with accounts, they can sign into the web version of the app using their login details.

2. Spelling Connect - Recording Audio:

Recording audio for custom words / spelling tests is not possible at the moment via the web version of the Squeebles Spelling Connect app.

The sheer number of combinations of hardware, browser type and microphone options meant that in our testing, it was not a reliable way to record audio for any custom spelling words. Instead, use the iOS or Android version of the app to record any custom audio.

Playback of all audio works in the web version, as do all other features.
