Privacy Policy
We take your children's and your privacy and online safety as seriously as we would expect anyone to take ours.
The below information explains how we protect your privacy, what data we do and don't store and what we use any stored data for. It also gives you information on how to delete any data of yours we may hold. If you have any questions about our privacy policy, please e-mail us on info@keystagefun.co.uk
Our Apps
- We sell our apps via three different online app stores (the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Amazon App Store). Your transaction when you purchase from one of those stores is with them, not with us. We receive no financial or account information and in most cases, we don't even know the product you ordered or your identity. All that information is linked to your store account and held with the store you purchased from.
Our "Squeebles Connect" Series of Apps
- As of December 2022, we are launching our new Squeebles Connect series of apps, starting with Squeebles Times Tables Connect. These apps require account creation, allowing you and your children to log in on any device and access the app, meaning progress, homework and account data can be shared across your devices and accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.
- When creating a Squeebles Connect account, we ask for the following information: name, e-mail address, time zone, username and password. If you are a school, we also ask for some basic information about your school (name, location).
- When adding child accounts to your account, we only ask for a first name. This is never displayed publicly.
- All publicly accessible scoreboards feature child usernames only. Usernames are created by us, automatically and do not allow any child to be personally identified by other app users.
- Your information is collected from within the Squeebles Connect apps, passed securely via SSL to our servers and stored securely. Your password is encrypted using industry standard "one way" encryption, meaning we cannot read it under any circumstances.
- Our Connect series of apps run on a subscription basis, so we also store the date your subscription begins and ends, as well as the type of subscription you have paid for. We collect this information to ensure your subscription continues to function correctly and you and your children can access the app.
- We do not have access to any of your financial or payment information and have no way of charging any payments to you ourselves. All subscription payments are handled by the Apple App Store (privacy policy here) and processed by RevenueCat (privacy policy here), a third party payment processing service specifically for app developers.
- We use the following 3rd party companies:
- No "real" account data is used during development or testing. However, in the event of us needing to look into any issues with a specific account, the above companies may require access to some basic account details (name, e-mail address) for the purpose of support.
- None of your data will be stored by any 3rd party, or used for any other purposes than support. We will NEVER share your details with any 3rd party for marketing purposes.
Other Squeebles Apps (pre 2022)
- Apps not in the Connect series do not require account creation as standard. Child names and associated progress and stats are only stored on the device they are using. No details are uploaded to the internet or stored anywhere else by us and we have no access to them or any other data from your device via our apps. Once you delete a player's profile, the data is permanently deleted from your device.
- No internet or e-mail links feature within our apps. *
- No in-app purchases feature within our apps.
* the exception to this is our Squeebles Spelling app where to share tests with your other devices or to download our pre-recorded tests, you need to be able to connect to the internet.
Squeebles Spelling - Optional Account Creation
- We offer an additional service with our Squeebles Spelling Test app that allows you to share your spelling tests and associated audio between devices that have the app installed on them. This is an online service that requires us to store basic details about you so you can use the service. We store your name, e-mail address, a username and an encrypted password that you choose when you set the account up, for the express purpose of allowing you to share spelling tests between devices. We don't have access to the password ourselves and all this data is stored securely on our servers.
- When you share a spelling test via your KeyStageFun account, the audio recordings of the words stored on your device are uploaded to our servers and stored securely. They can only be accessed via your account. You have the ability to delete these via the app itself.
- A KeyStageFun Spelling Share account can be signed up for via our website (see this page) and the associated terms and conditions, which must be agreed to prior to signing up, can be viewed here.
All Apps
- You have the 'right to be forgotten'. As such, you may write to us and request that we delete any information we hold about you. Please be aware that to do this, we will need to delete your KeyStageFun or Squeebles Connect account and any associated data. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
- No in-app adverts are present in any of our apps and we don't track any progress within our apps for the purpose of displaying advertising.
Our Newsletter
- If you sign up for our newsletter, we store only your e-mail address for the purposes of e-mailing you with information about KeyStageFun products, competitions and news. Our newsletter database is hosted with MailChimp, who have their own privacy policy, as well as information on GDPR, available on their website.
- We will NEVER pass your details on to any third parties.
Our Website & Social Media
- If you or your child win any competitions or contact us with reviews or quotes for publication, unless requested otherwise by you, our policy is to avoid sharing a child's full name (we will just use their first name).
