Our 2-Step Deletion Process

We operate a 2-step deletion process for child accounts, classes / groups and extra adult accounts.

Content in those categories that has been deleted will remain in the system for 1 month, after which it will be removed permanently. We do this to allow a "way back" for restoring any content that may have been accidentally deleted. You can of course opt to permanently delete any content that has already been soft-deleted, by hard-deleting it, but you would need to actively choose to do that if you wanted it done within a month.

How it Works...

We will use deleting a child account as an example, but the same logic applies to deleting classes, groups and extra adult accounts.

To SOFT delete a child's account...

To soft delete a child account, tap the "Delete" button next to their name on the "Children" page, then follow the prompts.

Their account will then be removed from the Children page and will instead be listed on the "Deleted" or "Recently Deleted" page within the Children section.

Note: A soft deleted child still uses up a licence, so to free up the licence and completely remove them from the system, you will need to soft delete them and then hard delete them afterwards. We do this to avoid you accidentally deleting a child's account completely.

To HARD (permanently) delete a child's account...

Visit the "Recently Deleted" page (accessed via a button at the top of the Children page, next to the "Add New +" button).

Repeat the delete process from this page to hard delete the account.

Once that is complete, the child's account is deleted and all their progress and data is permanently removed from the system. At that point there is no going back!!

Exceptions - Deleting Assignments

Assignments / homework does not employ a 2-step process when being deleted.

If you delete an assignment, it's gone (although each child's attempts at that assignment will be retained).
